Covid Studio Etiquette
Updated Studio Etiquette | April 2023
We aim to offer as safe an environment as we can in the studio in terms of Covid-19 with hand sanitising stations, and air purification and ventilation.

We ask you to:
-
if you can, please be vaccinated when attending classes in the studio
-
place your mats carefully in the practice space to optimise distance between mats
-
we have mats and props available for use - if you prefer to to bring your own basic yoga kit (a mat, and ideally four blocks, two bricks and a belt) this is also fine. Should you want to purchase equipment please contact us.
-
arrive dressed for yoga
-
try and make minimal use of toilet and changing facilities
-
book classes/blocks online before attending
-
most importantly – PLEASE DO NOT COME TO CLASS IF YOU ARE UNWELL, HAVE RECENTLY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID.

To optimise clean air for you and us we have invested in an air purifier which removes 99.9% of viruses, and we have increased ventilation in the studio and reception area.

Studio Policies

-
Studio opens 10 minutes prior to class time. Please do not arrive before then in order to give the teacher time to prepare or for the previous class to finish.
-
If you are attending your very first class, please arrive in good time to introduce yourself to the teacher and if relevant discuss any matters on your health declaration.
-
Please complete the online health declaration form as part of registering for your first class, and disclose all medical issues to teachers and provide regular updates on any changes to your medical condition.
-
We encourage all students to arrive at least five minutes early to settle in.
-
If you bring your mobile phone to class please switch it off or ensure it is on silent upon arrival. However, we understand some people may be on call so please let the teacher know so that they can inform students should there be an interruption to their practice.
-
It is advisable to practice yoga on an empty stomach meaning not eating heavily for 2-3 hours before class and not eating in the hour before class .
-
Please wear comfortable clothing and layer up for class in the colder months.
-
We have a lost and found area in the shelves at the front of the studio. We will keep all lost and found items for one month following which we will give them to the local Rio charity centre.
-
Please remove shoes in the reception area of the studio and store in the shoe rack or on the floor to help keep the 'cubby holes' and your practice space clean, and please don't bring water bottles into the practice area.
-
Should your regular teacher be unavailable, we will do our best to ensure there is a replacement. Occasionally you may therefore have a different teacher.
-
We reserve the right to make changes to the class timetable at any time. Changes will be advertised on the website, in the studio, by newsletter and on Facebook.
-
Yoga on Tay is a small studio, and we need a break every now again to come back fresh to teaching and to yoga. We therefore usually close for a week (or two) over the school holidays (Summer, October, Christmas and Easter). Closure dates will be advertised in good time, and blocks of classes may straddle a closure period.
